Warangal Urban: An online AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Artificial Intelligence” was inaugurated by Director, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal, Prof N V Ramana Rao through online platform, “Google Meet” on Saturday. The FDP is being conducted in association with the AICTE ATAL Academy.
While nearly 1250 participants were registered, 200 participants were shortlisted from 77 institutes/organizations/industries/universities/colleges throughout the country.
Interacting with the participants, N V Ramana Rao explained about industrial applications of AI in the domain of business intelligence and cognitive intelligence. He also added that a total of 83 FDPs were selected by the AICTE ATAL Academy in the online mode and Department of CSE, NIT, Warangal, itself bagged six FDPs out of eight FDPs at NITW.
Dr P Radha Krishna, Head, Department of CSE, highlighted the importance and application domains of AI. Coordinator of this FDP, Dr. Sanjaya Kumar Panda, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, said that Artificial intelligence (AI) would focus on the simulation of human intelligence in machines. It is progressing rapidly and includes agent, environment, problem solving, search, optimization, planning to name a few, he added.
